This line connects Sousse Bab Jedid to Mahdia (a double-track line between Sousse Bab Jedid and Moknine and a single-track line between Moknine and Mahdia). It has 31 stations and stops, serving Sousse Bab Jedid, Sousse Sud, the Sousse industrial zone, Sahline, Habib Bourguiba Airport, a large part of the Eddkhila tourist area, the Monastir university campus, the city of Monastir, the towns of Ksar Helal, Moknine, Khniss, Ksibet Mediouni, Bennane, Bouhjar, Lamta, Sayada, the Teboulba industrial zone, the towns of Teboulba, Békalta, the Mahdia tourist zone, the Mahdia university campus, and the city of Mahdia.
With an average frequency of 40 minutes, the Sahel Metro operates 46 scheduled services daily between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., ensuring the transportation of more than 8.6 million passengers per year, with an average of 23,600 passengers daily.
Replacing the old electric equipment, the fleet currently has seven electric multiple units (EMUs) put into service in August 2010 and 2014. Each 91-meter-long train, consisting of four air-conditioned units and two trailers, offers 850 seats (30% seated) and a speed of 120 km/h.
